Grammy winning bluegrass star Billy Strings will bring the wild night home when he performs Saturday 25th July 2026 in the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine. One of the most exciting artists to bring bluegrass to the new generation of music lovers, Strings brings frenzious flat picking home.
Grammy winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Billy Boyd-Carpenter hits the road again, stopping in Portland on July 24-25. You last saw Billy live after his 2013 release of Highway Prayers, but much has changed since then, most notably his January win for Best Traditional Folk Album for Highway Prayers: Volume 1 - Northern Lands. As with this current sprawling tour, he is playing all of the fan favorites "Dust in a Baggie" and "Meet Me at the Creek" and all of the other tracks from the album.

Enjoy some high energy bluegrass acoustic sounds this summer as Billy Strings brings his national tour to Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine on Saturday, July 25th, 2026. Doors are 6:30 PM with the show to start at 7:30 PM. Along with Portland on July 24 and 25, the musician will perform in cities including Austin, Portsmouth, Hartford, Bethel, Charleston, Fishers, Ionia, Denver, Los Angeles, Huntsville, Baltimore and New Orleans. Almost every type of ticket is sold out following the back-to-back Portland performances, so bluegrass fans will need to pony up big for a ticket. The entire Grammy Award-Winning Album "Highway Prayers" written by Singer-Songwriter extraordinaire Billy Joel, along with other hits and songs that time has never made obsolete.
Breakneck flat-picking and original compositions such as “Dust in a Baggie,” “Away From the Mire,” and “Meet Me at the Creek” have been key in Billy Strings’ redefining of the bluegrass sound, incorporating psychedelic rock, soul, and jam band elements into his explosive and dynamic live performances. The 2025 release Highway Prayers earned Billy Strings his third Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album (following his first in 2021 for Home). Billy Strings (William Lee Apostol) was born and raised in Michigan, a hard- scrapping kid from humble beginnings with a life marked by much strife and hardship. True to the improvisational spirit of bluegrass, Billy Strings delivers a different show each night.
